Accident Repairs

Fixing the Dint

In the early 1960's when Flints first started, cars were basically the same as each other. Someone with basic metal working and engineering skills and a few basic tools could repair a collision damaged car.

Today, with the advent of laser welding, structural bonding and newly developed materials, using out of date techniques and tooling can destroy the safety features of a vehicle. Your car is often packed with a surprising amount of computing power to control a myriad of systems keeping you safe and to increase your driving comfort.

GB Flints have invested heavily in our technical knowledge, our technician's skills, equipment and facilities to repair your vehicle properly. We use genuine vehicle manufacturers' parts and guarantee our repairs.

Choosing a repairer on price alone can seriously harm your future safety.

What we will do:

Damage assessment

Once your vehicle is on site and after consulting the vehicle driver we will prepare a detailed assessment of the accident damage.

Body Repair

When the estimate has been authorised, we order any necessary parts and commence the repair process. The area to be worked on is stripped to allow the damaged parts to be repaired or replaced, as agreed.

Painting

Here we can see the technician applying the coloured base coat over the previously primed and prepared area. The base coat is being blended in to the surrounding areas to avoid a colour mismatch. The whole area will then be finished in a hardwearing clear laquer.

Refit & Testing

After painting, the new and undamaged parts are refitted to the vehicle. During this process, electrical and mechanical parts are tested to ensure they operate correctly.

Valeting

The repair process can be messy, so all vehicles are hand washed and the interior cleaned ready for the final inspection.

Quality Control

At the end of every repair we have a thorough quality control check of the vehicle. Not only do we check that all the authorised work has been done, we will also complete a mini safety check.

Vehicle handover

Our Workshop Controller prefers to hand over the vehicle to the driver on site so he can answer any questions that you might have about the repair or our services. If you cannot collect the vehicle we can deliver it back to you. In both cases, any excess due must be paid before the vehicle leaves the site.
